Informing Contexts, Project Development - Kent, Dufur, Culver, Shaniko

On my most recent shoot, I revisited towns that I had previously photographed - Dufur, Wasco and Culver. I also explored Shaniko, Moro and Kent, which I had not yet been to. On this excursion, I aimed to capture more portraits as I was unhappy with those that I had taken on my previous outing. I believe that I was more successful this time, primarily due to the fact that I growing more confident in approaching strangers and making them feel at ease as I photograph them.

I found Kent to be a particularly interesting location. It has a population of around 60, and consists of many abandoned properties falling into disrepair. I hope to revisit it again in the near future to learn more about its history and the people who live there today.

Reviewing my images with Jesse, he advised me to focus on creating consistency between my images. I agree that this is something that I need to work on, and should decide upon an average focal length and depth of field to use routinely.
